We are currently casting female models for LA Fashion week in March where the ONIKAI look book fashion film will be premiered as well as a runway show of the new collection!!
**One model from the runway show will be selected to be the featured model in an ad campaign for a special blog tee-shirt contest that will take place this summer and blasted all over the web!
Model Criteria: 5′ 8″ and above sizes 2-6.

It’s 2012!! (holy sh**) Kick pebbles and stones 2011! This year is going to be amaaazzing, I feel it in my bones. 2012 is the year of the dragon which is rare and it’s supposed to be full of luck and well… Amazingness. If NYE was any indication, I’m in for adventures all year round and I can not wait!

My 2nd day in a row waking up at 5am… luckily I had an amazing team and lots of support behind me. Not a morning person. (lol) I can honestly say I am so lucky to be working with WENDEL on this project; this look book film is really going to be something that I think is iconic and timeless. I put a lot of thought into the script and can not wait to share it. I’m not really showing many photos of the model or clothing because I want it to be a surprise, plus the line is not out until next year… the film will premiere for LA fashion week in March 2012! We have one more day of shooting in Jan. and then we are done! CAN NOT WAIT!

Last week ONIKAI was asked to make the ballerina costumes for a music video! This isn’t the norm of what I do because I don’t usually have the time but I love doing things like this! It was a rushed project but that was all part of the excitement; I was squeezing it in between another project and my look book film shoot… BUT I am so glad I did it because the final outcome was amazing. Wait until you see this CHRISTIANRICH music video, it’s epic! Being release in 2012. More updates to come. xo ONIKAI.
A little behind the scenes never hurt anyone… BEHIND THE SCENES at ONIKAI!
What would a casting be with out a little behind the scenes action(pun not intended)? In this version of casting part dos with the WENDEL crew, we fit some of the garments that are going to be used in our 2012 fashion film/look book on our final contending models. Excited!! I could have done that all day long! Unfortunately time did not allow. p.s. what’s a blog post with out a photo of Denny the ONIKAI office dog? xo ONIKAI*

This week at ONIKAI we are expediting some of our sales samples for our 2012 look book VIDEO shoot next month! Going TO. BE. AMAZING. (WEAREWENDEL) Above is a fit sample from the 2012 line which will be available for order 2.1.12!! Can you imagine this pant in a peach color? We are also making it in a cream and black crinkle foam wash. What do you think of the raw edge exposed pockets? EXCITED! Can not wait for all that is in the works… keep a look out, there is more to come!
